Haleigh-Rain Eady is a dance artist, educator and arts manager originally from Burlington with roots in Northern Ontario. Coming from a performing arts background, primarily focused in modern dance and improvisation, her unique journey through the arts sector began from a childhood of watching her mother perform. Later, finding love for dance and the ambition to pursue her own career at the Pre-Professional Ballet Program at Quinte Ballet School of Canada. She is a graduate of George Brown College’s Dance Performance Studies Program, an International Scholarship winner trained at The Ailey School through Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. She began her career being mentored by and performing alongside the Martha Graham Dance Company and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet in New York City.
Returning to Canada in 2017, She became a freelance artist and went back to school to complete a degree in Arts and Cultural Management at Humber College. She has a diverse work history, having the opportunity to work with KAIROS Canada as an intern for KBE and Indigenous Rights program, Fall for Dance North Festival, and Red Sky performance, as well as a dance educator and dance program facilitator for TDSB.
Currently, she has a full-time position at the HCA Dance Theatre (Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts) as the General Manager and is the local producer for Dusk Dances Hamilton and the Together in Dance Festival. She is becoming a young leader in the arts by forging a new path for dance using her deep practical understanding of the arts, and knowledge in business operations, financial management and grant writing. She strives to continue to make space for dance despite the challenges ahead and sees dance as a way to create connectivity within the community.
